Today was a track filled day. The district meet was in Kirtland today, which was so nice for us. We were able to go back and forth between the meet and home. The kids didn't get too bored just sitting between events since we were able to go home.
My little brother Wesley made the sports page today in the Daily Times. Here is the article. Yesterday, he took first place in District in the High Jump. Crazy thing, this was only his second meet to do the high jump at, and even crazier, at the first meet, he didn't even clear opening height. Way to go Wes! He also took Second in the Javelin, and 3rd in the 110 Hurdles. At state next weekend, he will be competing in the Javelin (he actually qualified the first meet of the season) and the High Jump. And, to top it all off, 80% of the season, he was injured and couldn't compete. So, he did really well for just getting back last week. I'm so proud of you Wes!
And secondly, my niece Melanie is amazing too! Yesterday she took first in the Shot Put, and today she took first in the Discus! Mel is currently first in the state in both events going into the state finals next week. You did so awesome Mel!
So, good luck next weekend Wesley and Melanie (and to all the rest of the Broncos as well)!
And, last but not least, I took first place in the falling down the bleachers with a 2 year old in your arms event. Oh wait, that's not an event! Just dumb and embarrassing. I caught myself, Kourtney was perfectly fine, and I just have a swollen ankle to show for it. The same stinkin ankle that I twisted really bad a few weeks ago and then got hit with a softball. I'm beginning to think I'm a bit accident prone there. Too bad Becky didn't have her camera or I would have put a picture up (see, I did put it on my blog). Oh well. Lesson learned. Don't wear clunky sandals and hurry down the stairs with a kid in your arms. To my defense, we were trying to hurry to the potty, and luckily for me, she made it. What a fun track day!

Hi Amanda!
Such a cute little family you have. It's good to reconnect with home town friends thru blogging (saves us a 7 hour trip and a lot of gas money!)
Congrats to Wesley, a man after my own heart! I was KC high jump/hurdler, too.
I'll add you as a friend on my blog list so I can keep up on all your happenings.
Did you know that your brother in-law Blake and I were baptized on the same day? What's he up to these days?
Good to hear from you-
Sean and the Eyrings
Ohh Im sorry you fell, if it makes you feel any better, I am always falling too, so your not the only accident prone one.
Okay, I bet that would be pretty embarassing. I hope your darn ankle gets to feeling better!!
Sorry you fell! Ouch! I miss track meets! Way to go Wes, that is great for him! Where is state this year?
