Proud Mommy

Today I was so proud of Lexi. She said the prayer in Primary for the first time. Yesterday we went to the church to "practice" talking into the microphone. I asked her if she needed help, and she said no. She wanted to do it all by herself. All morning long, Lexi couldn't wait for church to start. She was so excited. Then, it was finally time for Primary. Jeremy and I stood in the back. She sat up at the front so reverently with her arms folded. She sang the songs. Then, it was time. She walked up to the podium so reverently, adjusted the microphone to her level, and then said the prayer. It was perfect! It was the sweetest little prayer I have ever heard and made my heart swell. My dad was at our ward, and he even came in to hear her prayer. She was so pleased with herself, and that mom, dad, grandpa, and grandma (my mom does the music in primary) were all there for her. After church was over, I told Lexi how proud I was of her, and she told me this....."Mom, I was such a big girl. I said the prayer all by myself. Those other kids have to have help, but I didn't. I know how to say my prayers all by myself!" I sure love my sweet girl and I'm so proud of her! Good job Lexi!
