Lexi loves to draw and color. She also loves to write things; names, words, etc. Today she brought this picture to me, and showed me the birds she drew and colored, complete with an egg in the middle. Also, a picture of me and Jeremy. She wrote her name, and then mom and dad (she's memorized how to spell these and writes them on every project......she can also differentiate between writing Lexi and Alexis). Then, she told me that she wrote bird. I just didn't get it, but still praised her for a job well done. Well, tonight after Jeremy got home from his meetings, she showed him the picture and told him the same thing. Jeremy kindly told her that bird was spelled B-I-R-D. She argued with him that she had spelled bird right.....little miss smarty-pants. Then, she went to the bookshelf, pulled out her Spanish/English picture book, and turned to the picture of the bird. (A little background......Jeremy learned to speak Spanish when he served a mission in Chile for our church before we were married. So, our girls love learning how to say different things in Spanish. It's kind of a game at our house to learn new Spanish words and phrases all the time.) So, Lexi politely pointed out that she had spelled bird correctly.....P-A-J-A-R-O. Jeremy said you spelled pajaro, not bird. So she says, "pajaro is bird, duh!". Jeremy and I both apologised and praised her for spelling bird in Spanish. So, I just had to do a little bragging.....she's way too smart!

Wow, she's a really good artist & good at writing, too! That's too cute that she's writing stuff in Spanish. :)
I am so impressed! She is such a smarty pants!
I love the beautiful picture and story that goes with it!
Aubryn does similar things too (drawings, and making up stories to match), it keeps me laughing, its funny how these 4 year olds can write, and remember how to spell other little words, I know I wasn't that smart when I was a kid. Lexi is so cool!
