Like mother, Like daughter

Once upon a time, there was a five year old little girl. She had a younger sister and a younger brother. She was such a little homebody, and very attached to her family. She just loved being home with her parents and siblings. Then, this little girl went to Kindergarten. She really loved school, and loved learning, but some days she would just cry and cry. She didn't want to go to school, and leave her family. She was utterly convinced that they were having parties during the day without her. She just didn't want to miss out on the fun. So, she would cry.

Then this little girl grew up. She got married and had three kids of her own; two girls and a boy as luck would have it. Her oldest little girl was such a homebody, and wanted nothing more than to stay home with her family all day long. Well, one day she turned five, and then she started going to Kindergarten. She absolutely loved school and learning. But one night, she started to cry. And cry, and cry, and cry. The dad put his arm around her and hugged her tightly, asking her what was the matter. The little girl replied, "I just don't want to go to school tomorrow!" Perplexed, the dad asked why not. She finally uttered through her sobs, "Because Kourtney and Drew and Mom have fun all day without me. And I just have to go to school and miss all the fun stuff. I just want to be home!"

It was all the mom could do not to chuckle, because she once was that little girl. So, the mom told the little girl all of the BORING stuff they did all day long. She told the little girl that they waited for her to come home each day for the fun to begin. And she told the little girl that if she really wanted to stay home, she could, but she would miss out on all the things she loved about school. The little girl dried her tears, and realized that going to school wasn't so bad after all.

The next day, the mom called the grandma, and related the story. The grandma is still laughing!

Like mother, Like daughter!

The end.

Ha ha ha! I'm STILL laughing! A déjà vu experience, only better because I'm not the one explaining to the kindergarten teacher that we really didn't party all day like the oldest daughter claimed. This rates right up there with Lex and Kourt's stuffed animal pagent..."And the winner of the most beautiful stuffed animal is...Lexi's puppy!" Meg has emotional scars over never being able to win even ONE Barbie pagent. Like you said: Like mother, like daughter. By the way, that's a COMPLIMENT!

So Cute! Ethynn kind of did the same thing last year. It's kind of sad!

Very cute! Isn't it funny how much our kids can act like the parents sometimes, whether we like to admit it or not! :-)

Too funny, I also remember crying because I had to go to school sometimes. Oh life is tough when you are young! What a cute little story though, it is kinda scary that our kids turn into us!
