Oldies but Goodies

Last Summer while cleaning out her movies, my mom stumbled upon this little gem from my childhood....

Megan and I loved this movie. We would walk around the house repeating our favorite line..."What's in the box, what's in the box, gotta find out what's in the box.......whoa, whoa!" All the while, driving everyone in the family crazy. It has since become a favorite of my girls. Lexi knows every single song, and when the box scene comes on, Kourt busts out in song just like I used to (OK, so I still have to sing that line with the girls too.....I can't help it.....at least Meggie understands me). Kourtney would watch it every day if I would let her.

Then, yesterday at the public library, Lexi came across this treasure on the shelf.....
I about fell over right there! Seriously....Fraggle Rock! I had flashbacks from my childhood when you could "Dance your cares away" in the living room each day. Lexi asked what this movie was, and I just looked at her and said, "We're getting this one Lexi." She told me she didn't want to check that movie out, but wanted a different one. I explained that was fine (I usually only let them pick out one movie per library trip) because this was my movie and she could pick her own. Yesterday afternoon, I introduced my daughters to the Fraggles and they are in love!

I love when my kids enjoy the same things I did as a child! It brings back so many of my own memories while creating some new ones with them too!

I love it! I'm a huge Raggedy Ann and Andy fan as well. I've never seen that movie though. Hours of fun found at the pulic library!

I'm all about bribing. My kid, my husband, the Young Women, it doesn't matter. I sure hope they like Skip-bo! What other games should we play? Texas Hold 'Em? I'm new at this.

On a side note, I did a painting in 2nd grade of Raggedy Ann and won this huge contest at my school. My parents thought I was so artistic. If I were to do it now? It would look like it did in 2nd grade.

I loved Fraggle Rock! Good find!
