Christmas morning was pretty low-key at the Heslop House. Drew woke me up a little after 4 by whacking me in the head with his new Optimus Prime Transformer he got in his stocking. He needed help transforming it into a truck........not the way I envisioned waking up Christmas morning. Drew was actually the last of the three big kids to wake up. Lexi told me the clock said it was a little after 3 when she woke up, and that she was super quiet, but something tells me her excitement couldn't be contained and actually carried over to her younger siblings. I tried going back to sleep, but was unsuccessful due to the excitement in the next room. So, I joined the big kids for a few hours while Jeremy and Kallie snoozed a bit longer. Finally around 6:30 everyone was up. Since our church isn't until 1:00 pm we were able to take things a bit slower, and enjoy a nice yummy breakfast. It was a wonderful, relaxing morning!
We kept things pretty simple and didn't exchange presents since our trip to Disneyland was our families Christmas present. But Santa visited each of the kids, and they were all pleased with the surprises they received. I actually prefer and love these simple Christmas's where we can focus more on our Savior and not on all of the gifts and toys and unnecessary excess.
Here are a few pictures of the kids in their new p.j.'s on Christmas morning.
