An Uneventful Birthday

Yesterday was Jeremy's birthday. The big 31. I asked him if he felt old. He said no. But let me tell you, it was quite the exciting and eventful day.......talk about a PARTY........or not.

Jeremy spent the entire day in class. I spent the entire day babysitting for a friend. Jeremy had to buy his own birthday pie on the way home from school, because for some reason I just didn't feel like taking five kids, age five and under, to the store with me. (Jeremy loves pumpkin pie, and it's a tradition that we always have that instead of birthday cake for him.) We had a quick dinner and sang happy birthday once before Kourtney blew out the candles. Then I rushed out the door for a meeting. Jeremy bathed the kids and got them in their pj's before they headed over to my sisters house (thanks Meg). Jeremy then went to his meeting.

We both got done at the church about the same time, so we walked home together and picked our kids up on the way. I was really looking forward to a piece of pie after getting the kids to bed, since I didn't have time for one before my meeting. But, as I walked into the kitchen, I found the entire pie on the floor, completely smashed. With Drew standing next to it. With his hands and feet and face covered in pie. I just laugh and remember camera battery is dead so I can't even take a picture. So, into the trash the pie went. Oh well.

Finally, kids to bed. A birthday cookie delivery from my niece. Watch a little Jay Leno. Laugh at Larry the Cable Guy. Then off to sleep. What a fun and exciting day!

So, Happy Birthday Jeremy! Here's hoping that the next one is more exciting than the last one!

Honestly, this sounds like a perfect birthday to me. Excitement isn't all it's cracked up to be. I think that as long as YOU make a big fuss over Jeremy, he will be perfectly happy with a birthday cookie and Jay Leno. Happy Birthday Jeremy!
