Today my mom offered to watch the kids for Megan and I so we could take a little trip to Hobby Lobby. I probably only go there four times a year. Don't get me wrong, I love the store. But, 3 little kids and Hobby Lobby is not a good combination. So, I jump at any chance I get to go kid free, especially with my sister.
Meg and I got some great deals too. Patterns were on sale for 99 cents a piece, so we stocked up on all of the things we might even think about sewing for a while. We also hit up the clearance section and I bought a giant red plate. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. But it was only $1.50 and pretty and shiny so I figured why not.

We had tons of fun together, and it was great to get a little break from the kids. But, the best part was the texts my mom sent us while we were away. Here are some of them:
1:18 pm Just so you know, hi-ho cherry-o is a choking hazard!
I texted her back apologizing, since my girls know they are not allowed to play that when the babies are around. This was her response....
1:25 pm The babies got it out but all is well. I just taught them how to play ketchup and mustard. (Ketchup and Mustard is a game my siblings and I made up when we were little. I know, we are weird!)
She also threw in a few random texts to Meg as well.....
1:21 pm (To Megan) Does liv usually have 3 poopy diapers in one afternoon?
1:36 pm (To Megan) When did you teach liv to throw knives? She is good!
1:39 pm Kourt looks good in bangs. But you will like it better after they grow out.
2:08 pm (With the following picture) What is wrong with her?
2:14 pm (With the following picture) What is this game?
2:37 pm (To both Megan and I) Do I need to call poison control if a kid drinks a quart of vinegar?
At 2:44 pm I sent her a text asking if she needed Sonic yet? Surprisingly, we didn't receive any more odd texts after that. But then again, that may have been about the time she found the twins in the bath tub pouring shampoo all over the place too.
Thanks again mom! I grateful we can pay you for your services in the form of Sonic drinks! You really are the best!

That is too cute, your mom is so funny. I think I am really going to like having family round to help out with the monster munchkins. Or to have family to go shopping with instead of all by my lonesome! Your kids do some really adorable things....

Well the truth is out! The Stewarts are knife throwers!! We actually did that for FHE this week!

When my sister and I used to go out for some shopping while mom watched the kids . . . before cell phones and texting . . . we would get paged over the intercom. It must be a mom thing.
I like Mel's idea! Next time you go shopping, I'll just call the store and have you paged! Speaking of the mom-thing...MY mom called me four times while I was babysitting at your house, but I didn't answer because I couldn't find your phone. There's a trick for you...ignore the call!(I still don't know why she just didn't call my cell?!) I'm a lucky grammie and I know it. Who wouldn't want to spend the afternoon playing charades with Lexi and Kourt. If you bribe me with another Sonic drink, I MIGHT show you my hippo imitation.
