OK, so yesterday wasn't the day for my family. All 3 of the kids were due for a check-up @ the Doctor. I debated for a long time whether to take them all together at one time and get it done, or go one at a time, dragging it out over 3 separate visits. Well, Jeremy didn't have any appointments. so I decided to just go for it. I'm still not sure that was the best decision, but it's over with! All 3 kids are super healthy, and right on track. My little porker has gained even more weight. At 9 weeks old, Drew is a healthy 12 lbs 4 oz. He is only 1 oz. smaller than Olivia and she's 2 months older. At least I know he's getting enough food.....;) The Dr. came in (by the way, I absolutely LOVE our family Dr. He is wonderful!) and everyone checked out. Now comes the fun part (a hint of sarcasm). The nurses came back with the shots. I should have known trouble would follow when it took two nurses to carry all the shots and paperwork in instead of the usual one. All three of them were up for immunizations. There were TEN shots between my three kiddo's! CRAZY! Poor Lexi went first because she's the 'big girl' and she had the most to get. FIVE SHOTS!!! She was so brave though, and didn't even shed a tear. She just squeezed the heck out of Jeremy's hand. I was really proud of her. Then it was Kourtney's turn and she was hysterical, which has never happened before. Usually she does really good. I had to lay down on the table with her and she only had 2, one in each leg. Next, baby Drew had to get three. Plus, he was already traumatized (his little boy stuff had started to reattach so the Dr. had to break the skin off and it started bleeding again.....poor little guy, it broke my heart to watch). But he was a trooper too. So, finally all three are calmed down, and oh great, I just realized I'm out of children's and infant Tylenol. So, off to Wal-mart. I wait in the car with the kids while Jeremy runs in and gets some meds. Then, he comes back with a big bag of Easter chocolate and some m&m's to cheer everyone up. Great, there goes my good eating for the day (more sarcasm)! I take Jeremy back to work (which he wasn't feeling very good either) and head home and the real fun begins. I proceeded to spend the rest of the day and most of the night on the couch with a baby in my arms and a little girl laying on each leg. Thank goodness a new Barbie movie came out this week to entertain us while we sat there with everyone feeling droopy except for me. I think we watched it 3 times yesterday. Then Jeremy came home not long after that, and you guessed it, he was SICK! Not just a little head cold sick, but major sinus infection can hardly stand up sick. I sent him to bed and stayed with the kids. We went to grandma's for a little break and wonderful Aunt Meggie had gotten a 'surprise' for the girls to cheer them up. It made their day!
A new purse for each of them with a bracelet and m&m's inside. Meg is the best and I'm so grateful for her! The rest of the night and early morning was spent up and down going from one kid to another, dishing out Tylenol, rubbing legs, holding cold rags on their heads to help brake the fever, and just a lot of cuddling my little sickos. So, needless to say, my whole healthy eating/weight loss went down the drain yesterday. Good thing I can try again each new day. But, this morning, the fever's are all minimal and everyone is in a much better mood. Thank goodness!
