Birthday/Valentines Party

(The one and only non-blurry picture I got from the party......my camera was having issues.)

Lexi decided that instead of an official birthday party (Phew! I am so not a birthday party mom!!!!!!!), she wanted to have a "Valentines Play-Date Party" in her words. Since I was planning on letting her invite a few friends over, this was fine with me.

Our house had a huge heart attack! Lexi spent days cutting out red, pink, purple, and white hearts, and taping them everywhere. And, you'd think I would have taken a picture before Drew ripped them all down, but I didn't. But trust me.....there were lots of hearts, and it was very festive.

Saturday morning, 4 of Lexi's friends came over for a few hours. Jeremy was kind enough to take my grocery list and Drew to the store. And I was left with six silly girls. But they had so much fun. We had heart sandwiches, heart candy, heart cups, heart straws, heart plates, and even a pink heart cake!

And, I also learned that apparently 1st graders have frequent food fights. Who knew?! One of Lexi's friends goes to the other Elementary school in our area and is in 1st grade. She told me, with quite a bit of sassy-ness, "We like throw our food all the time and like the teachers like they don't even like care and we like have so much fun doing it that we do it like every single day!" So, I'm like the mean mom that won't like allow any like food fights like in her house! RUDE OF ME!

Besides the food fight, we only had a couple of little tiffs (which I didn't think was too bad considering there were 6 girls under the age of 7 all together), but after a few 'talks' things got better.

I also realized about 30 minutes after the party was over that I really could have hosted a sister party. Two of the girls that came were sisters (one just older than Lexi and one just younger), but the other two girls both have younger sisters around the same age. I'm sure the little sisters would have loved to play too. I know how hard it is for Kourt to get left out from the big girl stuff, and I can't believe I didn't think of the little sisters sooner! So, next time I'll have to think a little better about that.

But, overall, my girls had a great time. I hope the other girls did too! The "Valentines Play-Date Party" was a success.

Yes those poor sisters! But imagine poor you if you had MORE girls thrown into the mix! I do love my daughter, but my one girl is like your one boy! Congrats on the news of the new addition too!
